Job DescriptionAdheres to priorities and deadlines;completes work within scheduled time frames. Provide leadership as an Interim Director of Nursing Services when a center is in the process of hiring and/or training a DNS. Provide mentoring to Directors of Nursing Services. Provide leadership and support to centers where there is need for more guidance and assistance and/or for longer periods of time than can be provided by the Rehab/Skilled Consultant. Provide consultation, interpretation, assistance, guidance, and problem solving services to center staff, Regional Vice Presidents, administrators, directors of nursing services, and other National Campus staff. Develop and provide training during assignments. Assist nursing staff to coordinate provision of services with other disciplines to meet resident needs and to provide safe, effective, holistic care within regulations and guidelines. Throughout the assignment, provide consultation and assistance to center staff on development and implementation of QAPI processes, in partnership with the Quality consultant. Maintain knowledge of current information and practices in the nursing field and long-term care. Ability to work as an interdisciplinary team member. Travel to centers to work 100% of the time. On-call 24 hours a day while on assignment. Provide crisis management. Duties, responsibilities and activities may change at any time with or without notice. Education Experience Licensure Certification: Registered Nurse (RN) required;BSN preferred. Two years experience as a director of nursing in long term care. Prior experience with Good Samaritan is a plus. Skills/Abilities: Nursing, supervision, consultation and training skills required. Strong leadership skills. Ability to problem solve. Knowledge: Knowledge of nursing home regulations, survey process, and writing and implementing plans of correction.
