Salary : $89,007.00 - $112,751.00 AnnuallyLocation : 800 College Ave, WeedJob Type: Full-TimeJob Number: CRSS04Department: Student ServicesOpening Date: 11/22/2024Closing Date: ContinuousDescriptionINTERIM DIRECTOR, STUDENT HOUSING & STUDENT LIFEINTERNAL APPLICANTS ONLYFIRST REVIEW NOVEMBER 29, 2024 - OPEN UNTIL FILLED$7,417 - $9,396 MONTHLY$89,007 - $112,751 ANNUALLY40 HOURS PER WEEK Under the direction of an administrator or manager, oversees the day-to-day operations and activities of residential lodges; develops and implements programs and services to enhance and address Student Life, including but not limited to annual self-supporting residential programs that utilize on-campus residence hall facilities; serves as a support and back-up advisor to the Residence Hall Association, Associated Student Board (ASB) Student Government, and campus clubs that charter through ASB. Key Duties & Responsibilities The following duties are typical for this classification.   • Oversees and directs the work of residential life staff. *
  • Partners with Human Resources (HR) in the recruitment, selection, and hiring processes of staff; participates in the District screening and hiring processes. *
  • Interprets, applies, and communicates District policies, procedures, rules, and regulations for students and staff. *
  • Reviews, updates, and recommends updates and/or changes to policies, procedures, rules, program information, promotional materials, and fee structures. *
  • Reviews and approves student residence hall applications and payment contracts; reviews, verifies terms, and signs residence hall licensing agreements, as appropriate. *
  • Conducts and/or coordinates health and safety inspections of residence hall facilities. *
  • Establishes, updates, and maintains manual and digital record keeping systems, files, file sharing, and filing systems related to the area of assignment, including but not limited to student, budgetary, administrative, maintenance, and other district or college partnerships. *
  • Partners with internal department management, such as Facilities, to coordinate, plan, and schedule a variety of maintenance, replacement, and repair schedules to meet short-and-long-range facility and equipment needs of the Lodges and department. *
  • Assists in the review and evaluation of the Lodges' facilities and furnishing conditions; assists in preparing and planning for future needs, including but not limited to common kitchens, student recreational areas, common and shared areas, and lodge resident amenities. *
  • Develops department program goals and objectives; prepares and monitors budgets developed in support of identified goals and initiatives. *
  • Develops opportunities for residents to provide feedback related to the quality of life in the residence halls; reviews and analyzes received feedback to make recommendations and/or improve and expand existing programs, as appropriate. *
  • Oversees assigned staff to initiate, plan, and coordinate program activities for residents and other students. *
  • Oversees and leads staff enforcement of rules and regulations; maintains safety and security of the area of assignment. *
  • Implements and facilitates the Intramurals Program. *
  • Minimum Qualifications EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
    • Bachelor's degree in business or public administration, or related discipline; AND
    • Two (2) years of experience in supervising residence halls, student activities, property management, management of student support programs, student discipline, or related fields; OR
    • Any combination of education and experience which would provide the required qualifications for the position.
    DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:
    • Master's degree in a related field.

    • Possession of or an ability to obtain a valid driver license, if driving is required as an essential responsibility of the position.
