Job Summary:

The Executive Director is responsible for the management of the Assisted Living, Independent Living, and/or Memory Care community.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Oversees the daily administration of the organization by implementing policies, procedures, and programs.
  • Drafts and implements performance standards; conducts performance reviews for senior leadership.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Complete oversight of all aspects resident care, programming, staffing and facilities maintenance and fiscal management.
  • Ensuring that operation is at all times in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
  • Enforcing safe and fiscally responsible admission and retention policies.
  • Keeping operation within monthly budget.
  • Plan and coordinate health services.
  • Work collaboratively with physicians to implement appropriate healthcare programs.
  • Establish and enforce policies and procedures.
  • Take an active role in community relations, marketing, and admissions.
  • Servant Leadership directs all aspects of decision making.
  • Ensuring resident satisfaction through quality assurance programs and direct involvement in customer service.
  • Conducts training classes, on-the-job training, and orientation programs for all associates.
  • Creating and implementing policies and procedures to better the operation and quality of care.
  • Ensuring that all possible efforts are being made to assist and facilitate billing and collection of monthly rents.
  • Respond in a timely manner to requests of residents, families, and guests programs.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

  • Able to communicate effectively with all levels of management, team members, residents, family members, guests, vendors, referral sources, and outside contacts.

  • Able to talk and hear effectively to convey instructions and information to residents and team members.
  • Exceptional teamwork and leadership skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and multi-tasking abilities.
  • Strong attention to detail and basic bookkeeping skills required.
  • Excellent knowledge of the state regulations and compliance management.
  • Proven ability to execute results.
  • Strong financial and human resources judgement.
  • Maintains basic knowledge of computer software and internet platforms, including email.
  • Working knowledge of basic accounting terminology and processes.
  • Desire to work with older adults and their families.
  • Demonstrate ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
  • Must be familiar with and adhere to guidelines related to the Fair Housing Act (FHA) and the American with Disabilities Act (ADA).
  • Projects a positive and professional image at all times.
  • Education & Experience:

    • Bachelors degree preferred.
    • Previous experience in Assisted Living required.
    • Experience in a managerial role required.
    • Must have required licensure/ credentialing.
    • Meet state or provincial health related requirements.
    • Maintain any other certification as required by state or provincial regulations.
