The Center, through its wholly-owned CDFI subsidiary, Sustainable Neighborhoods, LLC, makes residential loans that other NYS-licensed lenders are often unwilling or unable to originate to qualified individuals and families to support these goals. Position Summary The Center is hiring an Interim Mortgage Operations Senior Program Analyst to join a team dedicated to helping middle and working-class homeowners sustain affordable homeownership throughout the State of New York. The candidate will be responsible for providing comprehensive support and accountability to the Vice President of Lending and Servicing in all aspects of grant/loan programs, ensuring productivity and efficiency. This is a full-time, exempt position. This hybrid role is intended for candidates within commuting distance from our New York City office. Primary Functions
- Utilize the loan origination and servicing systems to run pipeline, servicing, remittance, and loan performance reports.
- Manage spreadsheets, issues logs, and change management logs.
- Ensure Standard Operating Procedures are updated and current.
- Assist VP with developing strategies for developing program parameters for new programs.
- Research and manage vendors; provide recommendations to the Vice President.
- Attend meetings on the Vice President's behalf; provide detailed and comprehensive meeting notes and commentary.
- Work closely with other Lending team staff, ensuring satisfactory compliance with all Vice President's directives.
- Monitor loan and grant volume by reviewing related systems' housing status data.
- Assist with any special projects as directed by the Vice President.
- Assist with audits and reviews of grant/loan operations daily work.
- Create, monitor, and manage MIS reporting for mortgage and servicing Key Performance Indicators and other loan level and management reporting as necessary.
- Provide administrative support and technical assistance to the Vice President.
- Other projects assigned.
Skills and Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience in MS Office, including Word and Excel.
- Ability to use advanced computer functions.
- Ability to manipulate, analyze, and interpret loan requirements and support legal documentation.
- Liaison between FA, SONYMA, HCR, HPD, and other lending partners and funders.
- Demonstrated experience using any loan origination system (LOS).
- Proven organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proven ability to organize priorities, meet deadlines, and manage peak periods of activity while maintaining related records
- Ability to exercise discretion and maintain confidence.
- Ability to demonstrate resourcefulness, flexibility, and initiative.
- Work and communicate with a wide range of people in multiple phases of the grant/loan process.
- Demonstrate a professional, positive, approachable attitude/demeanor and work with discretion
Education and Training An Associate degree or at least 3 years of relevant experience in a related field is required. Some training in the areas of mortgage lending and closings is highly preferred. ExperienceAt least 4 years of experience working as a mortgage loan closer for a bank, credit union, or mortgage lender.
