Job Description:

Major, Lindsey & Africa's Interim Legal Talent group has an immediate need for an Interim to Permanent Real Estate/ Corporate Paralegal.

Overview: Our seeks a skilled and experienced Real Estate/ Corporate Paralegal to join its team.

Company: Our client is a real estate investment trust (REIT) focused on the acquisition and operation of single-tenant, industrial properties throughout the United States.

Experience: Five or more years transactional experience acquired in a top law firm and/or well-respected in-house environment.

Location: Boston, Massachusetts.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Draft documents such as Lease Amendments, Renewals, Extensions, Expansions, License Agreements, Short-Term Lease Agreements, Access Agreements, Assignments, Termination Agreements, Consents to Assignment, Subleases, Estoppel Certificates, Default Notices, and Landlord Waiver Agreements.
  • Assist Due Diligence Coordinator with the process of acquiring and disposing of properties (obtaining diligence reports, coordinating with third-party professionals, coordinating with internal team members, tracking deadlines, etc.).
  • Review and provide initial comments on Non-Disclosure Agreements.
  • Maintain and track expirations of letters of credit.
  • Prepare transfer instruments for Company debt securities.
  • Collect, organize, and maintain diligence materials in connection with securities offerings and borrowing transactions.
  • Maintain good standing of Company's corporate entities (including tracking and making annual state filings) and maintaining minutes books and other corporate records.

Qualifications Include:

  • Excellent academic credentials including a baccalaureate degree from a well-respected US University.
  • Five or more years relevant transactional experience, preferably with two or more years at a law firm servicing commercial real estate clients.
  • Tech skills: Excel; contracts management and database system.
