Through voluntary participation in working groups, employees can help enact policy changes, implement employee training, direct business development decisions and firm direction.The Candidate must be able to apply sound knowledge of architectural interior design principles and practices in a broad array of assignments and related fields. The position requires working well in an open studio/team environment, collaboration with multidisciplinary teams, managing design documentation, balancing technical and creative aspects of projects, and strong organizational skills.RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Conducts complex or novel assignments requiring development and implementation of new or improved techniques and procedures.
  • Assists in field surveys and site observations, documenting architectural features of structures and translating field conditions into accurate virtual models.
  • Participates in the iterative design process by preparing technical documentation, preparing design options, and creating detailed floor plans while coordinating between aesthetics and technical performance.
  • Works with clients to design or renovate spaces to meet their construction, finish and FF&E standards.
  • Enhances the function, safety, and aesthetics of a project.
  • Generates design concepts for color palettes and materials and presents to clients via physical or digital boards. Proficient in all aspects of FF&E selection, documentation, including creating cut sheets, schedules, CSI specifications and budget.
  • History of engaging in and interest in leading client presentations
  • Performs Construction Phase activities such as review of shop drawings, responding to Contractor questions (RFI's), or participating in BIM coordination meetings with Contractor and Consultants under supervision of the Project Architect
  • Skilled in performing material take-offs for cost estimating purposes; experience with RS Means a plus.
  • Utilizes Revit, Enscape3D, and other rendering tools to create compelling visualizations, virtual models, and presentation graphics.
  • Manages the BIM model in REVIT and BIM 360 and monitors model quality for assigned projects.
  • Provides technical support for BIM-enabled workflows and coordinates with internal project teams to solve design and documentation challenges.
POSITION REQUIREMENTSEDUCATION
  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Architecture or Interior Design (or related fields)
  • NCIDQ License not required, but candidates must be actively pursuing licensure in the state of Illinois
EXPERIENCE
  • 5+ years working in an architecture firm
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
  • Experience with Revit, AutoCAD, Enscape3D for rendering and SketchUp or other 3D modeling software
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, and Power Point)
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
