Interior Designer/Project Manager Category: Interior Design Location: New York Job Description High-end residential design firm located in New York is seeking a full time Interior Designer/Project Manager with a minimum of 5 years experience to manage multiple projects from conception through installation. The ideal candidate will have a strong background and understanding of Fine Art & antiques, fabric, and custom fabrication. Experience with project and construction management is required. Our firm specializes in creating long-term relationships with clients, which includes the ongoing maintenance of estates and properties, and the privacy of our clients is a top priority. The position offers the potential for enticing travel, working on exclusive and historic projects with incredibly talented architects and craftsmen, and good opportunity for growth in a small but expanding firm.

Responsibilities include:

-Orchestrate the design and management of projects from beginning through completion

-Create and maintain budgets throughout the span of projects, oversee client billing

-Create and manage schedules for all materials and finishes associated with projects

-Create plans for furniture, lighting, and elevations through CAD and/or hand drawing

-Attend all project meetings with architects, construction, and design team

-Communicate efficiently and delegate as needed with other members of the design team and Principal

-Perform other design duties as requested by Principal and/or senior Designers

Job Requirements - BFA or Masters degree in Interior Design

- Minimum of five years professional working experience in high-end residential interior design firm with full cycle project management, beginning to completion

- Extensive knowledge of New York Trade resources

- Experience with custom cabinetry/millwork design and detailing, bespoke design work and specialty workrooms for custom made items such as upholstery and metal work

- Superior interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with both team members and with high-end clients

-Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, CAD, hand drawing/sketching, and Design Manager software for client presentations

-Highly detailed and goal-oriented with the ability to work on multiple projects

- Able to travel to project sites as needed in the US & internationally

- Enjoys working in a fast paced, small office environment
