Job Description:
  • “Hunter” mentality with strong work ethic
  • Proven sales executive experience, achieving or exceeding targets
  • Previous experience as a sales executive, sales manager or sales and marketing
  • Superior interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate, present and influence all levels of the organization, including executive and C-level
  • Proven ability to drive the sales process from plan to close
  • Proven ability to articulate the distinct aspects of Company's service offerings
  • Proven ability to position products against competitors
  • Excellent listening, negotiation, and presentation skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
  • BA/BS degree or equivalent
Responsibilities
  • The Intermodal Sales Director is primarily responsible for selling intermodal transportation services and achieving sales targets with new prospects
  • They are expected to identify new business opportunities, negotiate new customer contracts, and develop/maintain relationships with customers
  • Own and achieve/exceed annual sales targets within assigned territory
  • Develop and execute strategic plan to achieve sales targets and expand Company's customer base
  • Build and maintain strong, long-lasting customer relationships
  • Partner with customers to understand their business needs and objectives
  • Effectively communicate the value proposition through proposals and presentations
  • Reporting on forces that shift tactical budgets and strategic direction of accounts
  • Identify potential customers in the target market and complete appropriate research on the prospects business needs
  • Regularly cold call for new prospects
  • Develop relationships with prospective shippers, while maintaining existing customer relationships
  • Negotiate prices, terms of sales, and/or service agreements
  • Be the primary point of contact for customers with regards to overall account management
  • Periodically prepare and report results, status of accounts, and leads to manager
  • Complete the expected number of customer appointments, follow-ups and leads weekly
  • Meet sales targets consistently
  • Become a subject matter expert on our business services, processes, and operations, and remain up to date on industry news
  • Perform other duties as assigned
