Overview

Work Study-Office Adminstration

20 hours per week

Rock Island, IL

This position provides assistance to Student Services office with Alumni Association, College, Faculty and Student Services functions, activities, clerical duties, and services.

Responsibilities

* Communicates effectively with others by fostering open communication

* Functions as a team player

* Collaborates with others to achieve goals

* Responds appropriately to emergency situations

* Prepare mailings-stuffing envelopes, applying labels

* Assemble packets and various promotional/meeting folders

* FERPA Compliant

* Take verbal and phone messages

* Make photocopies and transmit faxes

* Confidential filing; thinning of files; scanning

* Data entry of information into computer system

* Assist students/staff and guests in person and on phone

Qualifications

EDUCATION, TRAINING, & EXPERIENCE: Student enrolled in an associate degree program or a baccalaureate degree program. Specific departmental orientation and training provided by College Staff.

KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES, & SKILLS: Ability to handle nursing and health sciences equipment and instruments in a safe manner. Ability to organize and work with minimal supervision. Must be able to read, write, and follow written and oral instructions. Needs to be flexible and able to deal with individuals in a pleasant and professional manner. Accuracy and attention to repetitive activities is necessary. Critical thinking skills, organizational skills, creativity and entry-level computer skills.
