What You Will Do:

The Guidehouse Internship Program staffs interns on real world projects, showcases the Guidehouse culture, and provides Interns with a meaningful consulting experience. Interns work with teams and provide real-time deliverables in support of the clients. Each Intern is paired with a Buddy to serve as a resource that can assist them in navigating their Guidehouse experience.

Highlights of our Internship Program include:

* 10-week experience in the Summer of 2025 (Anticipated to start Monday, June 2nd and run until Friday, August 8th)

* Learning & Development Sessions (both E-learning & Instructor-Led)

* Performance management, including developing goals and holding Mid-Point and Final Evaluations

* Networking & Social Activities and Events

* Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Intern Event

* Intern Speaker Series

* Collaborative Group Projects

The Housing & Community Solutions (HCS) team is a part of the Capital Projects & Infrastructure team and provides subject matter expertise to clients across the firm's segments with a particular focus in the areas of: Housing & Community Solutions (HCS), Disaster Recovery & Resilience and Capital Projects. During your assignment, you will be given the opportunity to support projects to address some of the most significant business challenges our clients face. The HCS team is engaged in projects with state and local housing agencies, public housing authorities, homeless services offices, and departments of human services, among other clients. We are seeking Graduate intern consultants with experience in policy, programs, operations, and funding sources that relate to these agencies' needs. The Housing and Community Solutions Graduate Intern should have knowledge of housing, homelessness, and/or community development programs, including but not limited to: policy analysis, program design, financing, implementation, operations, grants management, equitable development, social impact evaluation, monitoring and compliance, and publicly available funding for housing and community development. We are seeking individuals who have some experience or knowledge of applicable policy, programs, funding source, regulations, tools and software solutions used within the housing, state or local government industry.

The nature of our projects requires self-motivated individuals who are willing to develop solutions on their own or in a team environment. Candidates with specialized coursework or other related experience are encouraged to apply. Project members are provided the opportunity to interact with our clients' senior management, as well as the opportunity to enhance their skills in the areas of technical competency, business development, client service and people development. You'll be working with an experienced team to support the development of client deliverables, internal and client-facing presentations, day-to-day project logistics, and any additional project tasks.

Depending on your area of study and team assignment, this position provides individuals the opportunity to serve clients in the area(s) of: grants management, construction management, capital project delivery, policy analysis, housing finance, compliance, and housing assessments, studies etc.

What You Will Need:

* Minimum Years of Experience: 0 years

* Minimum Degree Status Required: Graduating with an advanced degree between Fall 2025 and Summer 2026

* Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the country

* No current or future sponsorship is available for this position

What Would Be Nice To Have:

* Degree/Majors Preferred: Engineering, Architecture, Urban Planning, Public Policy, Construction Management, Grants Management, Housing, Public Administration

* Strong preference will be given to candidates with 1+ years of experience working on local, state, or federal housing and community development projects

* Experience in community development planning, housing policy, affordable housing

* Knowledge of federal housing programs and funding

* Strong analytical skills, ability to research, analyze and synthesize data in a meaningful way

* Excellent verbal and written communication skills

* Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks and communicate regularly with project leadership and client points of contact

* Ability to work independently as required, with a strong commitment to team environment

* Ability to meet project milestones and delivery schedules

* Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)

* Desire to support public sector clients with a focused mission on Disaster Recovery; Capital Projects and Infrastructure; and Housing

* Experience working with any of the following: housing authority operations and programs (e.g., Section 8), HUD funding sources (e.g., CDBG, HOME), homeless services (e.g., permanent supportive housing, housing first)

* Experience working with standard software systems used in affordable housing and homelessness (e.g., leased housing management systems, HMIS systems)

* Experience developing tools, forms, and templates to support client's adherence to applicable federal, state, and local regulations relating to affordable housing

The annual salary range for this position is $59,900.00-$89,900.00. Compensation decisions depend on a wide range of factors, including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, security clearances, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs.
