The Stratasys Summer Internship Program is designed to give interns a holistic view of what Stratasys has to offer from a multitude of departments. Our 12-week paid program begins in May and goes through mid-August. During the program, interns are embedded in real-time projects, which they contribute to or even lead depending on their experience level. Our campus team helps to educate, train, and grow our interns through monthly activities such as 3D printing training, lunch & learn seminars, and coffee talks with department leaders. We also host off-site team-building activities to promote networking among the group through volunteer events.
In this role: The
Packaging Design Engineering Intern will workto improve our customer experience with consumables used on our FDM product lines. They will collaborate with internal functional departments and external suppliers to design, test, and implement customer ready packaging solutions.
What you will be doing: - Creating concepts, holding reviews, and documenting designs
- Organize, perform, and document packaging tests
- Work with external suppliers to implement designs
- Cross functional development of designs and graphics
- Support project plans and business development opportunities
- Participate in a team environment to plan and communicate upcoming days/week
- Prototype of designs using computer modeling and physical samples
- Producing environmental sustainable low-cost packaging for projected volumes
- Learning how to use FDM manufacturing systems
Must have for this role: - Working towards a Bachelor's Degree in Packaging or Packaging Engineering
- Three years of higher education must be completed - (Entering Senior year of education as of Fall 2025)
- Basic understanding of manufacturing and product manufacturing processes
- Completed coursework using CAD software (SolidWorks preferred)
- Local to Minnesota or able to relocate without assistance to the Minnetonka, MN area
Nice to have: - 3D Printing experience highly desired
- Preferred Major(s): Packaging, Packaging Engineering, Design, Design Engineering
