This internship is designed to provide you with a comprehensive understanding of our company's operations, culture, and industry while allowing you to contribute meaningfully to various projects and initiatives. This role will report to the Vice President, Grains - Prop Trading.Key Responsibilities
- Conduct research, data analysis, and trade signal generation to search for patterns amongst suggested datasets for use in trading within the agricultural commodities space.
- Conduct hypothesis generation & analysis.
- Assist with day-to-day tasks and projects within the department including data collection and API development.
- Collaborate with team members to brainstorm ideas and solutions.
- Attend meetings and contribute insights as appropriate.
- Assist in the creation of reports, presentations, and other materials.
- Participate in training sessions and workshops to enhance skills and knowledge.
- Take initiative in identifying areas for improvement and proposing actionable solutions.
- Adapt to new tasks and challenges as they arise.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Strong programming experience in Python.
- Working knowledge of data scraping and data science, including machine learning in financial markets.
- Ability to work independently and explore the fringes of the main task.
- Previous experience in industry using time series analysis a plus.
- Ability to handle and interpret large amounts of data.
- Strong understanding of time series analysis and robust forecasting practices.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software.
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Eagerness to learn and contribute to the team.
