As a Labcorp intern, you will have the opportunity to support meaningful assignments that compliment an education in Science, Technology, Engineering, Math, Finance, Marketing, Communications, Business and Sales - and are inspiring and valuable in our mission to improve health and improve lives across the globe. About the Team:
The Research & Development team designs and develops new molecular assays, evaluates novel technologies, provides technical expertise to other departments, validates assays for clinical regulatory submissions and pursues research questions relevant to clinical diagnostic testing. We work collaboratively with other Labcorp departments and R&D scientists as well as with biotech companies and academic institutions to build new products and enhance current and future clinical testing.
Internship Assignment Summary:
Work under the guidance of a senior scientist on a project pertinent to clinical molecular testing
Clearly and regularly document all experiments in detail in a laboratory notebook
Participate in weekly staff meetings and data discussions
Present accomplishments to scientists from various disciplines and to senior management at the end of program
Engage in professional development workshops
Education/Qualifications/Skills:
Working towards a bachelors degree in a biological sciences or related field; preferably a rising Junior or Senior
Completed at least a year of biological or related sciences courses including hands-on laboratory courses with a B or better grade
Results-driven, detail-oriented, collaborative, curious and eager to learn
No research experience required; must be able to commit full-time to the program
Benefits: Employees regularly scheduled to work 20 or more hours per week are eligible for comprehensive benefits including: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, STD/LTD, 401(k), Paid Time Off (PTO) or Flexible Time Off (FTO), Tuition Reimbursement and Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
