INTERNAL AUDITOR I - FinancialMaintains and reports financial information.Monitors and balances funds, budgets, and accounts.Performs accounting and audit procedures.Communicates internal controls and resolves accounting problems.Maintains and prepares timely and accurate financial reports.Monitorsand balances funds, budgets, and accounts for specific grants.Analyzes financial data and resolves potential discrepancies.Assists department with accounting procedures and compliance issues.Reviews contracts for financial compliance.Approves check requests and requisitions.Accumulates requested documents and information for outside auditors.Performs all other related duties involved in the operation of the department as assigned or required.Minimum Requirements:You must have a Bachelor's degree or higher in Business (an accounting degree is preferred).Two (2) full-time years of accounting or auditing work experience are required (grant experience preferred).Ability to collect and analyze financial data and draw logical conclusions.Ability to recognize risks and communicate those risks to management for action.Ability to make decisions based on relevant criteria.Effective verbal and written communication skills.Proficient use of spreadsheets and word processing applications.NOTE: You must fill out the work history and education sections of the application to show you have the required years of experience/education or be disqualified.If hired, you must provide proof of educational attainment at New Hire Processing or during the promotional process.Tarrant County will conduct background checks on new hires that will include a criminal background check related to convictions and deferred adjudications in the past seven years and may include credit reports, motor vehicle records, employment records, and educational attainment.
