Location: We are seeking an experienced Internal Auditor that is Remote based with travel up to 50% of the time.
Principal Function:
We are looking for a meticulous and experienced Field Auditor to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for conducting audits in various field locations to ensure compliance with company policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements. This role requires a keen eye for detail, strong analytical skills, and the ability to work independently. The Field Auditor will travel to different sites within the USA and Canada, review financial records, operational procedures, and other relevant documents to identify discrepancies, inefficiencies, and areas for improvement.
The successful candidate will also be responsible for preparing detailed audit reports, presenting findings to management, and recommending corrective actions. This position offers a unique opportunity to work in a dynamic environment, interact with various departments, and contribute to the overall success of the organization. Essential Responsibilities:
* Frequent travel to field locations to perform financial internal audits at facility site.
* Analyze data obtained for evidence of deficiencies in controls, fraud, and lack of compliance.
* Documenting field work with working papers referenced to the audit program.
* Document and review process level controls, especially focusing on revenue, receivables, and inventory.
* Communication with leadership regarding control and procedural infractions, and advise best practices to be implemented.
* Document control infractions from field testing to complete closing meeting with GM at conclusion of each internal audit mission.
* Coordinating multiple assignments simultaneously with minimal supervision and completing assignments on a timely basis.
* Participate in special projects and investigations as needed.
Qualifications/Skills:
* Knowledge of internal control concepts and audit technique
* Good working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
* Strong oral and written communication skills
* Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Office software
* Bachelor's degree in Accounting from an accredited college or university preferred
* 1 - 3 years audit/accounting experience preferred
* Prior accounting experience in hospitality industry recommended.
* Working knowledge of AuditBoard would be a plus.
* Additional qualifications - CPA, CIA, or CFE preferred.
