Internal Communications Manager - Total Rewards

ROLE SUMMARY
The Total Rewards Communications Manager will be responsible for developing and executing communication strategies to effectively engage team members and drive high levels of participation in programs. This position will create a health and wellbeing brand and communications strategy that aligns with Pella's business strategy and culture. They will be a critical resource on our journey to improving population health, enhancing member experience and driving financial savings. This role will collaborate with HR leadership, key business partners and external vendors, providing strategic communications counsel on health and wellbeing communications-encompassing mental, physical and financial benefits we offer team members-and other total rewards and human resources communications as needed.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Leads, develops and implements effective health and wellness communications strategy in alignment with broader human capital strategies and company goals.
Collaborates with others to develop and implement programs and communication materials for targeted audiences that enhances awareness and the utilization of total reward programs and services.
Is the central point of contact for our benefits vendors, overseeing and helping coordinate the communications they create for our workforce and families.
Ensures brand and message alignment and coordination of communications.
Acts as an active participant in total reward and HR strategy meetings, helping to execute on communications plans.
Works closely with HR Senior Leadership on best practices for communicating total rewards offerings and other important HR related topics across the organization and within HR.
Creates messages and communications that are engaging, detailed, accurate and concise, and tailored to a range of topics that span department-wide to enterprise-wide messaging, leadership communications, meeting presentations, video scripts, key messages and talking points.
Maintains records, documents, contacts, and other sources of communication essential to the performance of duties.
Serves as an internal communications consultant and advisor for HR total rewards programs and other HR priorities and projects as assigned.
Stays current with trends and platform updates to optimize content for maximum reach and engagement.
Perform related responsibilities as required.
Manages special projects as assigned.

TRAVEL EXPECTATIONS:
Position may at times require travel. Estimated travel is 10% or less throughout the year.

* Experience with a range of communication technologies and channels such as intranet, email, social networks, engagement platforms, video production, content management systems, etc.
* Strong collaborative and consultative skills. Ability to cultivate productive working relationships at all levels, gain trust of business leaders quickly, and influence without authority.
* High level of self-motivation and the ability to work independently, as a member of a team, as well with all types and levels of employees.
* Solid business acumen. Ability to translate complex business objectives into readily understandable communications for a variety of audiences.
* Proficiency in various media platforms, both traditional and digital.
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
Position may at times require travel. Estimate is that out of state travel could be as high as 15% on an annual basis understanding that it may not be evenly spread throughout the year.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree (B. A./B.S.) from four-year college or university required with preferred degree program of Communications or Human Resources; Master's degree preferred; Communications or writing certificate from an accredited college or university program will be considered; five to ten years of related experience in HR Communications, Health Communications, Corporate Communications or related field.
