Job Description:
Expected Pay Range: $90,000 - $100,000/yearSummary and ScopeThe International Logistics Manager is responsible for managing the global movement of goods and materials for Deployed Resources LLC. This role involves coordinating and optimizing shipping schedules, negotiating with carriers, and ensuring compliance with international trade regulations and customs requirements. The manager oversees the entire logistics process, from order placement to final delivery, ensuring timely and cost-effective transportation solutions. Key responsibilities include tracking shipments, handling documentation, working with insurance carriers, resolving issues related to delays or damages, and maintaining effective communication with suppliers, customers, and internal teams to ensure smooth operations and customer satisfaction.Essential Functions
  • Arrange and manage the transportation of goods across international borders, ensuring compliance with all commercial and governmental regulations.
  • Negotiate rates, select appropriate transportation methods, and establish strong relationships with shipping carriers and logistics providers.
  • Prepare, verify, and handle all necessary shipping documents, including bills of lading, customs declarations, and import/export paperwork.
  • Ensure all shipments comply with international trade laws, tariffs, and customs regulations, and resolve any related issues.
  • Oversee the tracking of shipments from origin to destination, providing status updates and addressing any delays or disruptions.
  • Identify opportunities to reduce shipping costs and improve logistics efficiencies while maintaining service quality.
  • Address and resolve any issues related to shipment delays, damages, or discrepancies promptly and effectively.
  • Coordinate with the inventory management team to ensure accurate and timely delivery of goods to meet operational needs.
  • Maintain communication with customers regarding shipment status, delivery schedules, and any changes or issues that may arise.
  • Generate and analyze logistics reports to monitor performance, identify trends, and recommend improvements to the logistics process.
  • Work closely with other departments, including procurement, sales, and operations, to support overall business objectives and ensure smooth logistics operations.

  • In-depth understanding of logistics processes, supply chain management principles, and international shipping protocols.
  • Strong ability to negotiate rates and contracts with carriers and vendors to secure cost-effective and reliable transportation options.
  • Familiarity with international trade laws, customs regulations, and compliance requirements.
  • Ability to quickly and effectively resolve issues related to shipping delays, damages, and discrepancies.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for coordinating with carriers, vendors, customers, and internal teams.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage multiple shipments, documents, and deadlines efficiently.
  • Keen eye for detail to ensure accuracy in documentation, compliance, and shipment tracking.
  • Technology Proficiency: Proficiency with logistics software, transportation management systems, and standard office software (e.g. Microsoft Office Suite).
  • Ability to analyze logistics data, generate reports, and identify areas for improvement.
  • Commitment to providing excellent service to internal and external customers.
  • Proficiency in additional languages is beneficial for communicating with international partners and customs authorities.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, handle multiple tasks simultaneously, and occasionally lift and move materials.
  • Flexibility to work outside standard business hours when necessary to coordinate international shipments across different time zones.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and collaborate with various departments within the organization.
Required Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain management, international business, or a related field is required.
  • 5+ years' experience in international logistics or supply chain management is required, with a preference for experience in coordinating shipments for large-scale, and time-sensitive operations.
  • Professional certifications, such as Certified International Logistics Manager (CILM) or Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) are desired.
Physical DemandsWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk, see, hear, sit for extended periods, stand, walk, engage in repetitive motions, and use hands and fingers to manipulate objects, tools, or controls. May lift and carry materials and equipment weighing up to 25 pounds.Expected Hours of WorkThe ability to work flexible hours including nights, holidays, and weekends will be required based on contract needs. It is expected for this position to attend regular meetings during typical work hours in Eastern Standard Time as well as meetings as needed for assigned projects in other time zones.Work EnvironmentThis job operates in both office and field environments, with frequent interactions with international partners and clients. The role requires the use of standard office equipment such as laptops, smartphones, and presentation materials. Clear communication in English, both written and oral, is essential.TravelThis position requires up to 25% travel. Travel is dependent on contract load. The ability to travel to job sites and be away for extended periods of time based on contract needs is required. Short notice travel is required with 24-48 hours' notice.Work Authorization
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States.
  • Must be able to travel within the Continental United States (CONUS).
  • Must pass a drug test, motor vehicle record check, occupational health physical and lift test (if applicable), credit check, and a background check upon accepting a conditional offer of employment.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license. Have/maintain a clean driving record.
  • Must possess a valid passport.
