In this role, the ITS Manager will be charged with advising clients on a broad spectrum of international tax matters including tax planning, research, quantitative analysis, modeling of tax impacts of planning and international tax compliance. The ITS Manager will manage international tax consulting projects for both inbound and outbound multinational businesses including identifying planning and optimization needs, developing solutions, communicating to the client in a non-technical manner while managing risk and coordinating the overall implementation process between the client, FD internal service teams and outside advisors. The ITS Manager will also assess the U.S. international tax filing obligations for multinational businesses, reviewing the international tax returns and overseeing the international tax compliance process.You will be joining a practice that is a strategic priority for the firm and will have opportunities for specialized training, development and accelerated career advancement while maintaining a healthy work-life balance.Requirements:
- Knowledge and experience with core U.S. federal international tax concepts, including controlled foreign corporations (CFCs), global intangible low-taxed income (GILTI), foreign derived intangible income (FDII), base erosion anti-abuse tax (BEAT), foreign tax credits (FTCs), income sourcing, and expense allocation, cross-border M&A and inversion provisions, passive foreign investment companies (PFICs), dual consolidated losses (DCLs), treaty analysis, FIRPTA, FATCA, and others;
- Knowledge and experience with basic U.S. federal tax concepts, including subchapter C, subchapter K, subchapter S and accounting methods; as well as experience with U.S. federal tax return preparation and review;
- MS Excel based computations and models of complex tax computations related to areas noted above, including projections and modeling of alternative scenarios;
- Experience with preparation and review of key U.S. federal international tax forms and foreign information returns, including Forms 1118, 5471, 926, 8865, 8858, 5472, 965, 8990, 8991, 8992, 8993, etc.
- History of successful project completion and ability to clearly communicate key issues and roles with team members;
- Ability to accurately evaluate business issues, identify and analyze tax issues, and clearly articulate relevant tax issues, application of authority, and conclusions;
- Demonstrated proficiency in written documentation of tax issues and analysis (e.g., history of successful involvement with drafting of technical memoranda, step-plan reports, tax opinion letters, etc.);
- Leadership, organizational, and project management skills;
- Communication skills, both written and verbal;
- Self-starter with the initiative to seek out opportunities and ability to work successfully in a fast-paced environment;
- Experience in serving as a career advisor including training and developing others;
- Ability to work closely with partners, senior managers, seniors and staff to integrate practice development skills into a team approach to client service and new business development.Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience providing international tax compliance and planning services;
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or other business-related field;
- CPA certification, Attorney (admitted to practice in a U.S. jurisdiction), or Internal Revenue Service Enrolled Agent ( EA ) (or the equivalent of one of these designations), required. Masters in Taxation or LLM in Taxation preferred;
