JOB SUMMARY: The Consumer Insights (CI) team within Universal Destinations & Experiences (UDX) conducts research among Guests and future visitors to learn about their experiences, using survey research and other approaches. The CI Systems team supports these efforts by facilitating and improving data collection, transforming research data for reports and analysis, developing ongoing reporting and dashboards, and assisting with other programming and automation needs. The Intern on the UDX CI Systems team will gain exposure and hands-on experience supporting these aspects of research operations within the tourism and attractions industry. MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Modifies survey content at the direction of survey owners and under the supervision of senior team members, including items such as questions and answers, skip patterns, question logic, validation checks, and the visual look of the survey.
  • Helps to configure research software, settings, and surveys on research equipment used for in-person research, wherever needed.
  • Modifies and blends data collected from surveys for use in reporting by modifying existing data workflows, at the direction of senior team members.
  • Modifies existing operational report templates and dashboards at the direction of senior team members.
  • Practices creating new operational report templates, dashboards, and other visualizations under the direction of senior team members.
  • Works on other programming tasks as needed by the team, under the direction of senior team members.
  • Participates in team meetings and assists with special projects and other duties as needed.
  • Understands and actively participates in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training, and Team Member involvement activities.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION:
  • In pursuit of an Associate, Bachelor or Graduate degree at an Accredited Institution with current class standing of Junior or above.
  • Recent graduates will not be eligible for this program.
  • Minimum cumulative 2.8 GPA is required.
  • An official transcript may be required upon request.
  • Preferred majors include: Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Intelligence, Market Research, Hospitality/Tourism.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Preferable skills for success in role include but not limited to:
  • Understanding and experience with web technologies such as HTML, JavaScript, and CSS. Experience with other programming languages such as Python is a plus.
  • Technical and quantitative reasoning skills with a desire to understand survey software functionality, research methodologies, and the purpose of the research.
  • Familiarity with Qualtrics or other commercial survey software platform will be beneficial.
  • Experience working with data and using data workflow platforms will be helpful.
  • Familiarity with Tableau, Power BI, or other commercial reporting software will help in this position.
  • Must be efficient in Microsoft Office Programs including, but not limited to: SharePoint, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, problem-solving abilities and organization.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Superior written & verbal communication skills.
  • Work in a fast-paced environment and adhere to deadlines.
  • Ability to work autonomously and/or in teams.
  • Consistent attendance.

  • This internship will be a hybrid experience, based in our Orlando offices.
  • Interns must be currently pursuing a degree at an accredited university, and must have a graduation date later than August 2025.
