Employment Status: Full-Time, 183 days FLSA Status: Exempt Qualifications: Knowledge of ODE's Social Emotional Learning Standards Bachelors Degree Teaching license: Mild/Moderate -Intervention Specialist OR Education of handicapped in areas of learning disabilities/behavior disorders (LD/BD) or emotionally-disturbed/severe behavior handicapped (ED/SBH). Adheres to Code of Professional Conduct for Ohio Educators Trained in CPI/Non-Violent Crisis Prevention-- preferred. (will provide training if needed) Experience in IEP writing and Data Collection Must be proficient at conducting FBAs and writing BIPs. Experience working with Emotionally Disturbed/Behaviorally Challenged Students Knowledge of Ohio Academic Content Standards and ability to write lesson plans that coordinate with them and that are differentiated to meet the needs of all students on caseload. Ability to work with a team of professionals to meet the needs of every student. Must have excellent attendance record. Excellent communication skills verbal/written Prefer to have passing test score on Foundations of Reading (OAE 090) General Description: Constructs and implements Individualized Educational Plans (IEPs) and Behavior Plans for ED & other students in Learning Center program; conducts evaluations required to document student progress toward goals & objectives; participates in parent conferences to share information pertaining to the IEP & student progress. Abilities Required: Demonstrates professionalism and maintains a positive work attitude. Effectively uses verbal, nonverbal, writing, and listening skills. Completes paperwork accurately. Verifies and correctly enters data. Organizes tasks and manages time effectively. Maintains an acceptable attendance record and is punctual. Employee shall remain free from any alcohol or non-prescribed controlled substance in the workplace throughout his/her employment in the center. Pass BCI/FBI background checks.
