Inventory Analyst The Inventory Analyst plays a critical role in managing and analyzing inventory data to ensure accuracy, optimize inventory levels, and support efficient manufacturing operations. This role involves overseeing daily cycle count processes, reviewing inventory transactions, and leveraging data insights to develop and implement effective inventory control strategies. The ideal candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance inventory accuracy and operational efficiency. As an Inventory Analyst you will:
- Provide Inventory Control and Cycle Count Management
- Administer and coordinate cycle count programs for production and warehouse facilities using JD Edwards ERP systems. Assigning daily work to cycle counters as well as cross functional collaboration with other teams.
- Analyze cycle count results, identify variances, investigate root causes, and suggest corrective actions to resolve discrepancies.
- Address on-site inventory issues by verifying counts and resolving discrepancies in production or warehouse environments.
- Reconcile inventory transactions for company-owned materials at third-party locations, ensuring systematic reconciliation with physical inventory.
- Data Analysis and Reporting
- Compile, analyze, and report on key inventory metrics, including inventory turnover, days-on-hand, slow-moving and obsolete inventory, and variance trends.
- Develop dashboards and reports to track inventory performance and support decision-making for inventory reduction initiatives.
- Monitor and address negative inventory balances, monthly purge items, and other inventory adjustments to ensure data accuracy.
- Audits and Reconciliation
- Conduct work order audits on the manufacturing floor, verifying that materials consumed physically match ERP system records.
- Collaborate with suppliers, AP, and purchasing to reconcile inventory issues, validate receipts, and ensure accurate invoicing.
- Process Improvement and Change Implementation
- Assist in designing and implementing process changes to enhance inventory control and accuracy.
- Actively participate in addressing process deviations, ensuring correct updates to work orders (WOs) and sales orders (SOs).
- Partner with cross-functional teams to streamline inventory-related workflows and align practices with business goals.
- Systems and Operational Support
- Utilize ERP/MRP systems to manage inventory data, track transactions, and ensure data integrity.
- Support the annual cycle count process audit in collaboration with finance.
- Lead Monthly cycle count meetings.
- Support monthly obsolete cross functional team meetings.
- Support any ad hoc physical inventory counts.
- Undertake additional tasks and responsibilities as required to meet the needs of the business.
We are looking for someone who:
- Holds a College degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience). Bachelor's degree is preferred.
- Has 3+ years of experience in an inventory-related role, preferably in a manufacturing setting.
- Is proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly advanced Excel skills (e.g., pivot tables, VLOOKUP, data analysis tools).
- Has strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact effectively across departments.
- Has experience with ERP or MRP systems, with preference given to JD Edwards expertise.
- Possesses an analytical mindset with a focus on problem-solving and process improvement.
- Has experience in implementing process changes to enhance efficiency
What we offer you: Typical pay is $56,000 - 70,000 annually. Please note the pay information shown above is a general guideline. Pay is based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications.
