Description
Mission:
At Human-I-T, we create equitable access to opportunity by providing devices, internet access, digital skills training, and tech support for communities left on the wrong side of the digital divide-while at the same time, empowering businesses and organizations to do good by diverting technology from landfills to protect our planet. We believe access to technology is a right, not a privilege. It's what allows people to study remotely, apply for jobs, attend telehealth appointments, connect with distant family, or explore new ideas and perspectives. In order to shrink this divide, we make it easy for our partners to do good--join us to create a world where everyone can access opportunities to unlock their full potential.
Job Summary:
As a Sorting & Inventory Associate at Human-I-T, your role is pivotal in the initial stages of processing technology donations. You are responsible for the meticulous assessment, sorting, and preparation of donated items for further processing or disposal. This position demands a keen eye for detail and a strong understanding of consumer electronics, as you will identify reusable items, separate materials for recycling, and ensure accurate data capture in our inventory system.
This position is located in a secure, NAID AAA certified and ISO certified facility, ensuring the highest standards of data security and operational integrity. As part of our commitment to maintaining a safe and secure environment, all new hires are required to undergo a background check and drug screening prior to their start date. Additionally, to ensure the safety of our team, employees must wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times, which will be provided at no cost. Our active warehouse setting presents inherent risks such as equipment operation, material handling, and the need for constant vigilance to prevent accidents.
At Human-I-T, our work environment is dynamic and mission-driven, focused on creating equitable access to opportunities through technology. Our team is engaged in reducing the digital divide by ensuring that devices, internet access, digital skills, and tech support reach under-resourced communities while supporting environmental sustainability by diverting technology from landfills.
Our culture is creative, innovative, and collaborative, where continuous improvement and diverse perspectives are valued and appreciated. We strongly encourage applications from candidates of all backgrounds because we believe diverse perspectives create an environment where the best ideas rise to the top.
