Inventory Clerk Qualifications
- High school diploma or three to five years experience in computerized inventory control
- Ability to efficiently operate a personal computer, computer terminal, bar code system, and calculator
- General knowledge of a computerized fixed asset management system environment
- Ability to effectively plan and coordinate the accounting process required for the maintenance of the computerized fixed asset management database (adds, intra-district transfers, and retirements) of assets
- Ability to work flexible hours and days (nights, weekends, after hours); ability to perform physical labor
- Shall possess a valid Mississippi driver's license and shall own a dependable means of transportation
- Proficiency in oral and written communications skills
- Ability to maintain a workable relationship with all level of coworkers
Reports To Property Accounting Supervisor Supervises N/A Job Goal Perform duties as assigned to aid the property accountant in the execution of his duties in maintaining an effective computerized fixed asset management system. Essential Functions
- Utilizing the established computerized fixed asset management system, performs the following:
- New Assets:
- Assists the Property Accounting supervisor in receiving, uncrating, and inspecting of all assets in receiving warehouse.
- Tags each asset utilizing a predesignated coding system.
- Stores, temporarily, assets until they can be delivered.
- Assists in the delivery of assets to user schools or departments.
- Existing assets:
- Tags all designated assets in the schools and administrative offices with asset numbers using indelible ink pens.
- Conducts fiscal cycle inventory.
- Performs other related duties as requested or assigned.
Evaluation Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board's policy on evaluation of personnel. Salary Information Classification: Inventory Clerk Scale: Classified Grade: B Days Employed: 230 per school year Beginning Salary $14.00 per hour Overtime: Non-exempt
