Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Identify gaps in inventory accuracy and works closely with management to correct process and practice
- Develop and compile an industry brand database
- Monitor procedures to ensure inventory in all warehouses is properly accounted for
- Monitor all areas related to inventory movement to ensure inventory integrity and accuracy
- Assist with reporting cycle count results and identifies necessary recounts
- Generate purchase orders and track them within the company's system
- Perform thorough research and documentation of inventory discrepancies
- Work closely with purchasing and accounts payable teams to allocate overhead expenses to purchase orders
- Work closely with sales, purchasing, and logistics teams to invoice all direct shipments
- Identify gaps in inventory accuracy and work to correct this process and practice
- Audit outside storage agreements and rates
- Establish and maintain high standards for quality and productivity
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications and Requirements:
- 1-2 years of inventory control experience required; preferably in the food distribution industry
- High school diploma required; associate's or bachelor's degree preferred
- Active listening and ease in asking questions is essential
- Comfortable in a collaborative and cooperative environment; willing to work independently and on teams
- Strong verbal and communication skills
- Must be able to maintain confidentiality
- Excellent organizational and time management skills; ability to multitask
- Employee must be sensitive to personal demeanor and appearance, corporate needs, employee goodwill, and public image
- Demonstrate initiative, resourcefulness, and willingness to develop new skills and knowledge
- Must be bilingual in English and Spanish
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
