Role:
The Inventory Control Clerk oversees and monitors the receiving and storage of supplies and equipment from suppliers and distributes to departments in an effective and efficient manner. Responsible for assuring transactions are complete, including order pulling, supply packing and inventory control. Responsible for inventory accuracy and regular cycle counts. Must maintain a clean and safe warehouse environment. Monitors stock par levels and ensures proper inventory rotation. Assists with inventory control measures including purchasing, receiving, stocking and record keeping of supplies.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
* Monitors the unloading of all materials into the receiving department; ensures materials are staged for counting and inspection, packing slips and purchase orders are accurately received and routed for timely data entry.
* Resolves discrepancies with purchasing and accounting as needed regarding invoices, packing slips, and purchase orders.
* Oversees the movement of material from receiving to the warehouse in an efficient, effective and safe manner.
* Ensures materials are stored properly to conserve space and comply with safety procedures.
* Oversees the rotation of inventories within the warehouse, especially with regard to expiration dates. Keeps the storeroom environment safe, clean, and well organized.
* Evaluates inventory requirements and recommends min/max levels per inventory turnover reports. Perform inventory and cycle counts and troubleshoot quantity discrepancies.
Performance Measures:
* Ensures accuracy of all pulled supply orders with item number, description, quantity and proper labeling of department. Schedules and expedites normal and emergency deliveries.
* Monitor open purchase orders and coordinate with Purchasing Agent for follow-up.
* Participate in continuous improvement with director and all clinic staff to create efficient material flow from warehouse thru all facilities across the health system and appropriately stock, organize and rotate supplies in all departments.
* Ability to analyze and define problems, prioritize work flow, multitask, meet deadlines and remain flexible.
* Ability to work effectively in a team environment and contribute to maintaining positive interpersonal relationships and foster cooperation within and outside the department
* Observe all clinic policies and procedures.
Qualifications
Knowledge & Skills:
* Experience: 1-2 years inventory control experience utilizing ERP system. 1-2 years of warehouse coordinator experience is preferred.
* Education: Equivalent to a high school education.
* Interpersonal Skills: Courtesy, tact, and diplomacy are essential elements of the job. Work involves personal contact with others inside and outside the organization, generally regarding routine matters for purposes of giving or obtaining information which may require some discussion.
* Other Skills: Must have a valid driver's license. Ability to drive large truck without CDL requirement; have great driving record. Intermediate PC skills, including proficiency in Outlook, Word and Excel. Strong interpersonal, communication, organizational and follow up skills. Ability to work independently. Self-motivated, proactive, and flexible. Must be able to work with minimal supervision.
Physical Requirements:
* This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day in all elements of weather.
* The employee must frequently lift and/or move items over 75 pounds.
