New England Coffee is one of the largest independent Coffee Roasters in the Northeast. Job Summary: The Inventory Control Coordinator is responsible for ensuring quality and accuracy of all inventory in the DC by executing cycle counts, completing physical inventories, conducting food safety audits and supporting Quality department initiatives. Essential Functions and Responsibilities: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.   • Conducts cycle counts and corrects discrepancies to ensure inventory accuracy and avoid preventable aging
  • Handles all documentation within the inventory system including transfers, returns and journal entries pertaining to damages, donations and reworking of product
  • Works with the Quality Manager to complete the non-conformance report (NCR) process to determine rework product that can be distributed
  • Determines disposition of damaged product and investigates product damages and causes
  • Provides feedback to supervisor and leadership regarding issues with product trends
  • Works with Quality Manager on product hold/release process
  • Validates receiving documentation against bill of lading (BOL)
  • Troubleshoots inventory issues as they arise
  • Assists with internal audits for food safety
  • Follows all safety procedures and actively participates in safety training and safety system ownership initiatives
  • Maintains safe and efficient use of equipment, tools, and person; reports any injury, accident and/or unsafe condition to supervisor immediately
  • Supports and complies with GMP's; understands and follows emergency action plan
  • Supports foods safety, quality and legality
  • Ensures the operation is providing food-safe, quality products which meet or exceed all product specifications and regulatory requirements
  • Other duties as assigned
Education and Experience: The minimum requirements below are representative of the education and experience required to perform this job successfully.
  • High school diploma or GED
  • MRP System/ AX09
  • Cycle counting and/or inventory management experience preferred
Qualification/Skills: The skills listed below are representative of the technical, interpersonal, and leadership skills required to meet the job qualifications for this position.
  • Technical skills include forklift certification or ability to become certified, basic computer skills, basic ERP system knowledge
  • Interpersonal skills include good verbal and written communication, good time management skills and the ability to follow rules and directions
  • Leadership skills include a positive attitude, being a team player and self-leadership
