ABOUT THE POSITION Lead the day-to-day functions of running the department, prepare and run reports, and any other duties as assigned.
Key Deliverables - Perform inventory cycle counts.
- Assist the inventory controls manager in accordance with the organizations polices and applicable laws.
- Plan, execute and reconcile physical inventories between systems and counts.
- Monitor all inventory issues and ensure effective resolutions for all.
- Achieve specific procurement goals and provide support to others while following established procurement systems and protocols.
Key Activities & Responsibilities - Monitors and maintains current inventory levels, and paperwork.
- Responsible for daily inventory control transactions including adjustments, discrepancies, vendor returns, etc.
- Coordinate with stockroom personnel and purchasing in regard to expense inventory replenishment.
- Responsible for maintaining build-ahead parts inventory by opening and managing jobs to replenish stock as required by major jobs and sales orders, taking into consideration seasonal demand.
- Responsible for reporting pertaining to inventory values, raw materials, quantity and value adjustments, count discrepancies, etc.
- Provide daily support for cycle count program, including determining cycle count rows, analyzing discrepancies, keying counts, and justifying discrepancies.
- Provide support for all aspects of Physical Inventory, including raw material books, cycle count sheets, tags, distribution of inventory sheets, problem solving and coordination, updating counts and final inventory closure.
- Ability to prepare routine administrative paperwork.
- Monitors and maintains current inventory levels, track batches and paperwork.
- Work directly with all Astec departments to maintain proper inventory control procedures.
- Special Projects as required.
- Follow company policies and procedures at all times.
- Follow proper safety rules and procedures at all times.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
To be successful in this role, your experience and competencies are: - High school diploma or equivalent certification is required.
- 4+ years of experience required.
- Minimum two years' experience in MS Word and Windows required.
- General knowledge of Epicor inventory and material transactions preferred.
- Basic computer skills are required, including MS Word, Windows, Excel, and Outlook.
- Good telephone etiquette is required with the ability to handle customer and employee calls.
- Ability to type 45 to 55 words per minute required.
- Ability to work under pressure with deadlines is required.
- Ability to effectively work as a member of a team is required.
- Prefer two years inventory control experience in a support related function
Supervisor and Leadership Expectations Must be able to effectively communicate and work with others in support of daily inventory control procedures and coordination of physical inventory.

WORK ENVIRONMENT Office While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to risk of injury in an office environment and occasionally a manufacturing shop plant environment. Duties include a typical office setting including extensive computer work, sitting or standing.
