Job description:

Inventory Control Specialist & Assistant Shift Lead: This position requires a passion for servant leadership. The ideal candidate will have excellent attention to detail and inventory control experience. The primary role will require daily diligence with cycle counting, cycle count reconciliation, and conducting inventory transactions. The person who fills this role will also be responsible for providing operational supervision as needed, where safety is first, for a high volume, multi-shift warehouse, packing line and shipping/receiving dock operation.

Reports To: Shift Supervisor / Leader

Duties/Responsibilities:

Inventory Control Specialist (Primary Role)

  • Investigate and correct cycle count losses
  • Investigate and locate misplaced inventory
  • Process transactions for product returned by customers
  • Review transactions for product moving through rework processes
  • Review pallets staged in the Problem Pallet Area for resolution
  • Conduct extra cycle counts
  • Assist with pulling samples for customers to facilitate sales growth
  • Collect samples for Quality disposition

Assistant Shift Lead (Secondary Role – will be performed when Supervisor is off)

  • · Lead the Warehouse 2nd Shift Team with a servant leadership style.
  • · Lead with and embody the Furmano Food corporate values: Thankfulness, Honesty, Kindness, Diligence, and Unity.
  • · Responsible for leading, supervising, counseling, motivating, evaluating, providing training, and ensuring safety requirements are followed.
  • · Coordination of task assignment to ensure Warehouse operations run smoothly and efficiently.
  • · Understand Key Performance Indicators and educate team members on them. Communicate effectively to ensure alignment of work with KPI's, goals and improvement initiatives.
  • · Ensure superior customer service is provided to customers and internal partners by delivering on shipping commitments.
  • · Make recommendations to the Warehouse Manager to facilitate continuous improvement in all areas of responsibility.
  • · Maintain effective communication with other departments: Safety, Quality, Maintenance, Customer Service, Human Resources, Logistics and Procurement functions.
  • · Ensure adherence to company rules and policies, including but not limited to safety, training requirements, and GMP's.
  • · Ensure adherence to USDA, FDA, BRC, and OSHA regulations.
  • · Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Required Skills and Abilities:

  • · Must have the ability to operate a forklift and pass a company certification test for Forklift operation.
  • · Must have basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication & division).
  • · Must be flexible and adaptable to changing duties and manage a variety of assignments simultaneously.
  • · Must have effective communication skills at every level with the ability to interact collaboratively and influence others without authority.
  • · Must have excellent attention to detail.
  • · Effective decision-making skills.
  • · Self-motivated with a strong sense of urgency.

Experience / Qualifications:

  • · Minimum of 2 years of Supervisory/Management experience.
  • · Warehouse/Distribution Center experience preferred.
  • · Proficiency/Experience in other Supply Chain disciplines a plus.
  • · Proficiency with MS Office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • · Proficiency in using WMS, ERP or resource planning systems.
  • · Ability to write, speak, read, and communicate clearly in English.
  • · Ability to write, speak, read, and communicate clearly in Spanish a plus.
  • · Eligible to work in the US without Sponsorship.

  • · High school diploma or equivalent
  • · LEAN, Six Sigma, APICS/ISM or other certifications a plus.

Position Type and Hours:

  • Full Time
  • 2nd Shift - 4:00 pm to 12:00 am
  • 20 Minute paid lunch
  • Working days and start and end times may vary based on season and the needs of the company.
  • Normal working days are Monday through Friday, and occasional Saturdays.
  • Ten (10) and twelve (12) hour shifts may be required during busy times.

Pay: Up to $24.67 per hour
