Job Summary:

The Inventory Control Specialist is responsible for performing duties related to warehouse and inventory management. This includes tracking inventory levels, managing stock, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring efficient storage and distribution of materials. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and able to work in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and manage inventory levels, ensuring that stock levels are accurate and up-to-date.
  • Receive, inspect, and process incoming shipments of materials and supplies.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records through manual or electronic systems, ensuring all transactions are logged and reconciled.
  • Conduct regular inventory audits and cycle counts to ensure accuracy of stock levels.
  • Organize and maintain warehouse space, ensuring that materials are stored efficiently and safely.
  • Prepare and fulfill orders, picking and packing items for distribution as required.
  • Assist in maintaining stockroom and warehouse cleanliness and organization.
  • Coordinate with vendors and suppliers for reordering stock and resolving discrepancies in deliveries.
  • Ensure compliance with safety and operational procedures related to inventory management and warehouse operations.
  • Assist with loading, unloading, and moving inventory within the warehouse as needed.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Graduation from an accredited high school or equivalent (GED).
  • Basic knowledge of inventory management practices and warehouse operations.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to use inventory management software or systems for tracking stock.
  • Physical ability to lift and move materials, stand for extended periods, and work in a warehouse environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior experience in inventory control, warehouse management, or related fields.
  • Familiarity with warehouse equipment, such as forklifts or pallet jacks.
  • Proficiency with inventory management software and systems.

Working Conditions:

This position requires working in a warehouse or stockroom environment, which may involve exposure to varying temperatures and the need for physical labor such as lifting, carrying, and moving inventory. The role may require standing and walking for extended periods.
