The Inventory Control Specialist is responsible for overseeing inventory flows in and out of a warehouse or production site assigned to them. The position maintains accurate inventory balances by maximizing the utilization of an ERP system and by requesting or completing physical inventory counts when needed. Control:
- Monitor and record all inbound and outbound product activity and ensure transactions are executed and documented correctly at the inventory control and lot detail level.
- Responsible for inventory batches, receipts, returns, transfers, and adjustments with 100% accuracy based on a thorough review of supporting documentation and understanding of the appropriate software modules.
- Transact and document inventory adjustments when required for returns, lot corrections, samples, location moves, bulk transfers, physical count variances, bill backs, and quality issues.
- Review sales order shipments for accuracy and proper documentation, and once verified process shipping inventory reservations.
- Record Chep pallet inbound and outbound activity by logging transactions in the Chep Portal.
- Provide support to Production Planners and Customer Service.
- Assist finance with invoices on hold report when inventory transactions are required.
Data Management:
- Maintain and file inventory documents as required by internal controls in the Sharepoint inventory site.
Month End:
- Ensure transactions that are not recorded within the proper fiscal period are communicated to finance. This includes providing a list of missed receipts at each quarter end close to finance.
- Perform month-end 3rd party inventory reconciliations including investigating inventory discrepancies for warehouse and production sites under their responsibility.
Audit:
- Understand and comply with all audit requirements and all other corporate and local policies that relate to inventory support.
- Assist with internal and external audit requests.
- Research inventory variances.
- Assist with 3rd Party audits and travel to co-packer sited as needed.
Analysis:
- Specific projects related to inventory as requested by Inventory Control Manager.
- Research inventory variances.
