POSITION SUMMARY: The Inventory Control Specialist is responsible for overseeing inventory management processes to ensure accurate tracking, reporting, and optimization of stock levels. This role plays a critical part in maintaining inventory accuracy, supporting supply chain efficiency, and minimizing costs. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Inventory Management:
    • Conduct regular inventory audits, cycle counts, to ensure accuracy and identify discrepancies. Correct the system to reflect correct inventory levels.
    • Track and analyze inventory movements and trends to identify discrepancies.
    • Implement and maintain inventory control procedures to reduce loss and enhance efficiency.
  • Data Analysis:
    • Utilize inventory management software and tools to maintain accurate records.
    • Prepare and present inventory reports and forecasts to management.
    • Analyze inventory turnover rates and to identify trends and recommend adjustments to inventory levels.
  • Collaboration:
    • Work closely with purchasing, warehousing, and sales teams to coordinate inventory needs.
    • Communicate effectively with suppliers regarding inventory issues or shortages.
  • Problem-Solving:
    • Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies and issues promptly.
    • Develop strategies to mitigate inventory risks and reduce excess stock.
  • Process Improvement:
    • Assist in the training of new staff on inventory procedures and best practices.
    • Assist in the development of training materials and procedures for inventory management.
REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficient in inventory management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as an inventory specialist or in a similar role.
