We also grow careers, giving employees on-the-job stretch assignments, lateral moves to expand knowledge bases, and promotional opportunities that help to accelerate development.The Inventory Control Specialist is responsible for leading the Inventory Control team, monitoring inventory accuracy, cycle count reconciliation and making appropriate adjustments utilizing a combination of existing tools and available data as well as self-authored reports/queries/database tools. Processes inventory records for liquidations and enters manual inventory transactions. Documents inventory results, status, and exceptions. Join us in our mission!This role is onsite and based out of our St. Cloud, MN Distribution Center.Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Supervises Inventory Control staff to execute daily production plans.
  • Monitors and address process exceptions and failures. Reassign staff as directed to meet changing production demands.
  • Communicates process improvement opportunities to reduce/eliminate exceptions and process failures.
  • Acknowledges performance levels of staff. Re-enforces performance expectations.
  • Leads Inventory Control staff to take personal pride and ownership in their job and workplace.
  • Leads an operation that values a safe and clean work environment. Ensures all staff members are treated with dignity and respect.
  • Identify and investigate inventory errors and report root cause to enable corrective action and drive continuous improvement
  • Review and act on distribution pick/pack exception reports. Provides corrective action recommendations based on root cause analysis.
  • Review distribution processes to ensure inventory movement is accurately accounted for on WMS and corporate inventory systems. Makes recommendations to improve inventory control, storage and picking inaccuracies.
  • Process shipment records for liquidation orders and inventory transfers
  • Develop and maintain inventory reports and queries. Perform ad hoc management information queries as requested
  • Establish selection criteria for inventory locations based on inventory velocity and size attributes.
  • Coordinate the flow of new inbound inventory to ensure all inventory is appropriately located and accessible to efficient picking strategies. Monitor and reports progress.
  • Maintain relationships and serve as the point of contact and liaison for 3PL clients related to inventory and order date management.
  • Ensure issues are driven to resolution and partners to ensure client expectations and needs are being addressed.
  • Oversees a seamless client experience and provide management within accurate, timely, and consistent reporting.
  • Lead cross functional teams to discuss issues and provide solutions related to service, orders, fulfillment, and demand management.
  • Review analyses of activities, costs, operations, and forecast data to determine department progress toward stated goals and objectives.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
  • 3 years of experience with inventory, supply chain, distribution, or warehouse management.
  • Minimum of 1 year experience providing work direction in a fast-paced distribution environment.
  • Ability to make quick, sound decisions while meeting expected targets.
  • Ability to interact effectively with senior management and/or executive level leaders and new customers/clients
  • Exceptional WMS experience and proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Strong customer service and interpersonal skills
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience interfacing with clients to address current and future needs and resolve client issues.
  • Previous experience in 3PL Industry or Fulfillment Center.
  • Working knowledge of RMS/Oracle, and SQL
  • Experience working with senior management and/or executive level leaders within an organization.
Physical RequirementsThis position requires prolonged periods of sitting, working with a computer and other work-related equipment up to 9 hours per day. Additionally, tasks may include occasional lifting of documents up to 10 pounds. When working in the office, home and/or other locations there will be occasional bending, twisting, reaching and moving.
