Aspirus Wausau Hospital is seeking an INVENTORY CONTROL SPECIALIST to join our SUPPLY CHAIN team! The Inventory Control Specialist ensures adequate inventory of materials and products in accordance with inventory classifications, cycle counts, cost containment, and organizational philosophy. Conducts daily inventory analysis to solve inventory problems. Develops and implements inventory control procedures. Coordinates and manages daily physical cycle counts. Trains and helps direct an inventory team. Pulls and uses historical data and trends to forecast and create action plans. Recommends, sets, and maintains minimums, maximums, replenishment points, and par levels. Assists with the creation, modification, and management of inventory locations to align with the goals of the organization. Reports trends and progress to leadership on a regular basis. Utilizes benchmarks, history, experience, and judgment to plan and accomplish goals on time and under budget. HOURS: Full-time or 1.0 FTE; 80 hours bi-weekly; Day Shift Experience/Qualifications:
  • Develops policies and procedures to be utilized for inventory management.
  • Effectively manages inventory by establishing and following proper cycle count procedures.
  • Assists with the management and maintenance of par levels inclusive of template build.
  • Assists with the creation, maintenance, and management of all Lawson inventory locations.
  • Tracks and maintains inventory error rates to comply with approved level.
  • Routinely runs obsolescence reports for review by end user.
  • Routinely runs utilization reports to assist the Program Manager of Logistics & Inventory Operations.
  • Verifies stock outs and corrects negative quantities.
  • Troubleshoots issues within the Lawson system.
  • Trains and mentors other employees on inventory control processes. Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Maintains department specific accountabilities as determined, maintained, and housed within each unit's Scope of Service
Education
  • Knowledge of inventory control standards and practices normally acquired through completion of a Bachelor's degree in Business or related field.
Experience
  • Minimum of five (5) years' experience in Inventory Control preferred, along with familiarity with a variety of field concepts, practices, and procedures.
Other
  • Certifications in APICS, CMRP, or CPSM preferred.
  • Demonstrates strong clerical and computer skills. Must be able to use Excel spreadsheets for detailed analysis, with the ability to perform v-lookups and pivot tables. Experience with Microsoft Access and SQ3 are preferred.
