Job Description:

We are a rapidly growing organization in the Paramus, NJ area. We are seeking to hire an Inventory Control Specialist w/electronics experience to join our team of professionals. The ideal candidate will be responsible for but not limited to the following responsibilities:

The Inventory Control Specialist will oversee and manage inventory levels, ensuring accuracy, proper organization, and optimal stock levels for a large number of SKUs. This role is essential in streamlining the company's inventory processes, maintaining data accuracy in inventory systems, and coordinating with different departments to ensure efficient product flow and availability. The ideal candidate has prior experience in overseeing a large catalog of SKUs and thrives in fast-paced environments where attention to detail and problem-solving skills are critical.

Job Responsibilities:

Inventory Management:

Manage and track inventory across multiple warehouses or distribution centers with a large SKU catalog.

Regularly performs cycle counts and physical inventories to ensure data accuracy.

Analyze stock levels and initiate reorder processes to prevent stockouts or overstocking.

Maintain accurate records of all inventory movements including receiving, transferring, and shipping activities.

SKU Optimization & Organization:

Create and maintain SKU classifications to ensure proper categorization and ease of identification.

Assist in SKU rationalization by analyzing slow-moving, obsolete, or duplicate SKUs to optimize inventory.

Data Accuracy & Systems Management:

Update and maintain inventory management systems (ERP, WMS, or specialized software) with real-time data.

Ensure that product descriptions, locations, and quantities are correct across all systems.

Develop and generate reports on inventory performance, turnover, and SKU metrics.

Identify discrepancies between physical counts and system records and resolve them promptly.

Process Improvement & Optimization:

Continuously seek ways to improve inventory control processes, including space utilization, stock organization, and SKU labeling.

Collaborate with warehouse teams to implement the best practices for inventory management and control.

Assist in developing and enforcing inventory control procedures to reduce loss and inefficiencies.

Vendor & Stakeholder Collaboration:

Coordinate with procurement teams to ensure timely restocking and vendor compliance with lead times.

Collaborate with sales, production, and Logistics teams to align inventory levels with demand forecasts.

Compliance & Auditing:

Ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations regarding inventory management.

Assist in preparing for audits and provide accurate records when necessary.

Job Requirements:

Experience:

Minimum of 5 years of experience in inventory control, with specific focus on managing high SKU volume (preferably in retail, e-commerce, manufacturing, or distribution sectors).

Technical Skills:

Proficient in inventory management software, ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite), or WMS platforms.

Advanced Excel skills and experience in generating inventory reports.

Familiarity with barcoding, RFID, and SKU management best practices.

Attention to Detail:

Strong ability to focus on accuracy and efficiency when managing inventory data and performing audits.

Analytical Abilities:

Capable of analyzing inventory trends, SKU performance, and identifying areas for improvement.

Communication Skills:

Excellent verbal and written communication skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.

Problem-Solving Skills:

Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve inventory discrepancies or other issues related to inventory flow.

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field.

APICS Certification (CPIM or CSCP) or similar supply chain certification.

Experience in Lean or Six Sigma methodologies for process optimization.

Previous experience in high-growth environments with complex product lines.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to lift and move products and materials up to 30-pounds.

Comfortable working in a warehouse environment with some periods of standing or walking.
