Job Description
Basic Purpose
Modernization of inventory control and asset management for the Oklahoma Military Department. This modernization will integrate and establish agency procedures to utilize the PeopleSoft (CORE) Inventory Control and Asset Management modules.
Compensation: $39802.00
Typical Functions
* Plans, implements and performs materiel management activities for the Oklahoma Military Department; assists in the procurement of supplies and equipment or other material.
* Prepares and implements the perpetual inventory of tangible assets statewide. Reconciles and records the property listing for submission to the USPFO and the Division of Capitol Assets Management, State Inventory Officer. Updates and maintains automated inventory control and asset management programs for the Oklahoma Military Department
* Maintains property records, orders and other documents used in the procurement process; supervises the receipt of supplies and equipment; verifies shipping documents against invoices and other data.
* Confers with department heads, vendors and outside agencies concerning purchases, deliveries and acceptability of supplies.
* Assists with all materiel management activities for the Oklahoma Military Department, including maintaining perpetual inventories, insuring proper storage of warehoused items, and meeting the needs of the agency for various supplies
* Assists the Inventory Control Officer in the certifying and submitting Annual Inventory reports required by Federal and other State agencies'.
* Performing professional level work with responsibility for an important component of a comprehensive or specialized operating program,
Level Descriptor
At this level employees are assigned responsibilities involving the management of a supply or materiel management function of moderate size and scope. In this role they will be responsible for all materiel management activities of an agency or institution including maintaining perpetual inventories, insuring proper storage of warehoused items, and meeting the needs of the agency for various supplies.
Education and Experience
Four years experience in supply or warehousing work; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Competencies
Requirements include knowledge of relevant state or federal regulations; of the methods and procedures for acquisition of supplies and equipment; of warehouse principles, techniques and inventory methods; and of various types of mechanical equipment used in warehousing operations. Ability is required to establish and maintain effective working relationships; and to take accurate inventories.
