We are looking for an Inventory Planner to join our team. This role will be based out of our Middleton, MA office which operates in a hybrid work setting.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

* Creates accurate item level forecasts using Forecast 21 inventory management software and historical reporting tools.

* Uses intuition, experience, and historical knowledge to adjust and adapt forecasts and buy plans accordingly.

* Reviews and analyzes past and current business and promotions to develop a demand forecast.

* Determines and plans appropriate levels of inventory for each item after analyzing the merchandising and marketing plans of future business.

* Reconciles department level roll-up of item level plans to a departmental assortment plan.

* Subdivides item-level forecast to its color/size level forecast.

* Work with Finance Department to manage cash flow and ensure delivery of products.

* Analyze overstock situations to establish sale prices on a seasonal basis.

* Roll up each business level item/color/size forecast to a season level time-phased forecast of sales.

* Manage current and planned inventory levels to meet corporate inventory objectives.

* Develop, plan, research opportunities, and implement an optimal and achievable inventory delivery plan, including delivery timing, future purchases, locker stock, greige goods, and long-term annuity product commitments.

* Collaborate with Sourcing and Vendors to take advantage of opportunities with fabrics, component parts, and container loads to improve service and reduce minimum requirements.

* Monitor and manage inventory irregularities including over/under shipments, place holds on merchandise/fabric commitments, buy-back opportunities, and purchase order cancellations.

* Monitor daily mailing results for forecast variances and update Forecast 21 software to reflect them.

* Monitor planned and expected deliveries for early/late or assortment variance and check that corporate systems have been updated.

* Assess the impact of variances on the inventory plan and forecasts to identify surplus/deficient stock situations. Expedite, delay, cancel, or reorder inventory as necessary.

* Meet objectives related to fill rates, forecast variance, inventory turns, and inventory $/sales levels.

* Work with Merchandising to determine possible substitute items for Customer Service when out of stock situation arises

* Create and manage Purchase Orders, updating ship dates, delivery dates, and quantities as necessary

* Inform Merchandising of response or delivery variances that render planned sales unserviceable or provide additional sales opportunities.

* Performs and manages these responsibilities within a determined corporate master schedule

QUALIFICATIONS

* Bachelors degree from a four-year college or university and five to seven years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

* Advanced skills with Microsoft Excel, Access, and Word.

* Experience with Direct Techs Forecast 21 software and CWDirect a plus.

* Must be a strong communicator and representative for the Inventory team with the Information Systems department and software vendors.
