Job Description:
Department University Housing Responsibilities
  • Moving and transporting furniture, appliances, textiles, supplies and equipment to residence halls, warehouse, vendors, housing offices and or other University entities.
  • Assist with counter parts and materials issuance to General Trades Technicians as needed. Keeping accurate records on items issues in maintenance.
  • Assist in maintaining vehicle maintenance and mileage logs. Keep vehicles and work areas clean while maintaining adequate aisle spacing. Minor training and sharing of knowledge of the position to new hires/staff.
  • Also assist with quarterly and end-of-the-year hand counting of inventory.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent and one year of experience related to the duties of this position. (Note: post high-school education and/or experience may substitute at a comparable rate.)
  • Ability to meet the physical demands of this position to include frequent and repetitive movements which are not limited to, bending, stooping, standing, and walking for extended periods of time, climbing, descending stairs, reaching, and moving/lifting up to 80 lbs.
  • A valid Georgia or Florida driver's license or ability to obtain upon hire.

  • Ability to demonstrate effective customer service skills.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
  • Knowledge of and ability to safely operate machinery, tools, equipment, and materials used in area of work.
  • Ability to understand and follow written and oral instructions.
  • Skill in safely operating various types of motorized vehicles including but not limited to dump trucks, tractors, forklifts, pallet trucks, front-end loaders, and golf-carts.
