We are seeking an Inventory Clerk to take physical count of product, parts and raw materials and record the data in an inventory system. As the Inventory clerk. You will pick and ship sales orders and receive in purchased goods and materials. You are responsible for the accuracy of the information and whereabouts of goods used by departments within the company.
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:30am – 5:00pm with OT as needed
Hourly Rate Range: $20.00- $26.00 Your hourly rate will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. In addition, our ranges are determined by role, level, and location.
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
- Physically count materials in stock and on the production floor. The quantities are recorded in an inventory system and reconciled when discrepancies are found. This may include investigating the cause of inventory irregularities.
- Conduct inventory transactions within the organization between departments, from a stockroom location to the production floor, physical and electronic work order transactions that assign materials to specific product work orders.
- Compare purchase orders with packing lists of incoming products, parts and materials to be received into the inventory system.
- Use sales order packing lists to pick and package orders purchased by customers.
- Communicate with the Purchasing and Customer Service teams to arrange outgoing shipments to vendors and customers.
- Load outgoing and unload incoming shipments from various trucks with the use of a forklift or overhead crane.
- Measurement and inspection of goods per engineering drawings.
- Crating duties may be required at times.
- Maintain a clean, organized and safe work environment as well as the inventory stockroom and staging areas.
WHAT YOU WILL BRING:
- A high school education or equivalent is necessary to perform the duties of an inventory clerk. Previous experience in material handling.
- The clerk must have the ability to perform basic math calculations when investigating discrepancies, and inventorying parts.
- The work may be physically demanding and may require the clerk to lift heavy materials with the assistance of others or with the use of a forklift or overhead crane.
- Must have the ability to spend a great deal of time on your feet and in stooped or bent positions.
- Must be attentive to details and numbers for accuracy.
- Computer skills and knowledge of some office software such as spreadsheet programs is desirable.
- Ability to operate company vehicle, valid driver's license.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Duties will be carried out in a manufacturing shop area that can be noisy and moderately dusty. The pace of work is quick and steady. He/she must have the ability to stand, walk, and use hands to handle, feel, and reach, as well as lift up to 50 lbs. Occasionally may be required to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. Safety glasses, safety shoes, and other relevant equipment must be used in the shop floor areas
