Orange County Utilities provides water resources and solid waste recovery services to protect and enrich the lives of the citizens and guests of Orange County Florida. The Fiscal and Operational Support Division provides support services to the Director's Offices and all Utilities divisions including: financial management of the department's two Enterprise Funds and the Special Revenue Fund, accounting, information technology, procurement, warehouse and inventory management, facilities maintenance and management, safety administration, communications, and agreements management.
The Fiscal and Operational Support Division is seeking a well-qualified individual to fill the position of an Inventory Specialist . This position works independently to ensure receipt, issue, storage, and control of stock items from a controlled warehouse in support of Department Operations.
Job Description
General Functions
This position provides daily and after-hours emergency material, supplies and repair part support to the Water and Water Reclamation Divisions from the Operations Support controlled inventory Warehouse.
Representative Duties /Assignments
* Uses the Maximo computerized Inventory system to issue/transfer warehouse stock items to plant and field repair and maintenance personnel for routine maintenance and emergency repair activities.
* Creates order request for inventory from the Maximo inventory system for emergency repairs to the utilities systems.
* Tracks open orders through the Maximo inventory system for backordered items and completes transactions and orders, as items are available.
* Research deliveries for other divisions through the Maximo Purchase Order system and contacts proper personnel to ensure timely delivery of merchandise.
* Organizes daily paperwork for the Supervisors review.
* Pulls and stages orders for the various divisions' daily workload and emergency requests.
* Receives and stocks inventory while ensuring accuracy. Reviews each item to determine if it is on order and if the item meets the required specifications.
* Performs weekly cycle counts on specific bin number ranges to maintain proper inventory accuracy, conducts annual physical inventory.
* Maintains inventory bin locations and overflow areas to ensure that the proper level of stock is on hand at all times. Informs supervisor of any items in short supply to initiate the procurement process.
* Ensures that the warehouse is maintained in a neat, clean fashion and there are no safety violations. Protects the security of the inventory by following the established security procedures.
Minimum Qualifications
Graduation from high school or equivalent, and two (2) years of experience with material handling equipment, forklift, pallet jacks, basic warehousing, inbound & outbound shipping, computerized inventory control system/ or basic computer skills.
Must pay attention to detail and make accurate decisions on the specifications of materials and parts needed to effect repairs in emergency situations.
Must possess and maintain a valid Florida driver's license, or possess the ability to obtain one by hire date.
Preferences
Prefer experience in using CMMS Computerized Maintenance Management System, preferably Maximo . Knowledge of underground utilities and plumbing preferred.
