**Primary Purpose of the Position:**

The Inventory Specialist will control/maintain the shipment of orders from the plant to internal/external customers.

This position will control the documentation and physical flow of all traffic (in-bound/out-bound).

Check SAP & NAPS to make sure no outstanding errors are in system and drive for improve performance on inventory errors. Manage inventory control for all ISO documents.

The incumbent will assist with managing the flow of items from the supply buffer into the warehouse and then directly into the network dock doors.

Maintain correct inventory count for warehouse finish goods and supplies for tires. (i.e. Flaps, card board etc.). Own and coordinate end of month inventory counts.

He/She manages the duties of the Traffic Coordinators.

**Principle Duties and Responsibilities:**

Complete billing for all direct factory ship (DFS) out-bound loads. Provide instruction to all the over-the-road trucker drivers. Coordinate the timely loading of original equipment (OE) and DFS orders with Area Managers, Load Planning Center (LPC) and Akron OE Account Representatives.

Receive all orders, separate out by order type, schedule order picking and schedule transportation pick-up for less than truck load (LTL)/truckload, in-bound, export, flat-beds and stop-offs. For exports, receive export orders and work with Customer Service Representatives to understand special instructions, port dates and what can be combined on a truck, etc. Complete paperwork required for customers. Coordinate the complete export process (from order origination, booking, bead protecting and transportation) with all concerned parties (Expeditors, Akron Export, LPC, Area Managers and Hourly Personnel).

Set in-bound appointments and work with Supervisors to schedule labor (for unloading of loads upon arrival). Provide instruction to the truckers (upon arrival) and process the paperwork (including goods receipt).

Coordinate warehouse flow for quality assurance work. Input tires into the tire test system, coordinate shipping of those tires when orders arrive and file all associated paperwork. Assist in scheduling quality assurance (QA) inspections. Track tires that were shipped out when QA is researching barcodes. Audit warehouse processes and update training material (as needed) for Hourly Associates, Area Managers and Office Personnel.

Check status of committed volume shipments daily. Track progress in meeting the daily goals related to stocking and shipping. Assist with any impediment to the flow of material, information, people or product to meet daily goals. Perform other duties as assigned (including, but not limited to, assisting in training new/back-up supervisors [as needed], order office supplies and verify inventory accuracy).

**Education:**

High school diploma or GED.

**Experience:**

5 of more years of experience in Logistical Operations.

Experience working with systems and databases (Excel, Access, SAP).

Experience in Internal and External Commerce Desired.

Experience with Key Process Indicators and Controls Desired.

Experience in manufacturing or warehousing work environment Desired.

**Knowledge:**

Great interpersonal and communication skills (both verbal/written).

Negotiation with internal and external customers.

Management of interpersonal relationships.

Problem-solving, contingency plan generation and process flow mapping.

Organization and data control through physical and electronic means.
