The Inventory Specialist is responsible for managing and optimizing inventory levels to support production demands while minimizing costs. This role analyzes inventory trends, forecasts material needs, and ensures the accuracy of inventory records.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform analysis of inventory throughout the production life cycle by establishing and conducting regular cycle counts of inventory items.
  • Manage inventory software, ensuring barcoding process is followed.
  • Implement and monitor procedures to ensure an adequate supply of products to serve customer needs while minimizing inventory investment by assessing demand activity.
  • Analyze, investigate, and resolve discrepancies. Identify problematic inventory records/transactions, ensure inventory balances are accurately maintained in all affected systems, and make appropriate adjustments.
  • Ensure accurate and secure documentation of materials and equipment.
  • Maintain the accuracy of inventory records in ERP or inventory management systems.
  • Compile, verify, and report monthly statistical information regarding inventory trends to management.
  • Work with cross-functional teams (Quality, Engineering, Warehouse, Production, Logistics, and Purchasing) to ensure inventory control practices are followed and assist in continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Education, Experience, Certifications:

    Education: Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, business administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience) preferred.

    Experience: 2-4 years of experience in inventory management, in manufacturing or fabrication preferred.

    Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

    • Proficiency in ERP systems and inventory management software preferred.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills required
    • Proficiency with Excel required.
    • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities required.

    Other Requirements:

    • Must have the ability to communicate information in speaking and writing so others will understand.
    • Must be able to see details at close range.
    • Must be able to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds at a time.
    • The employee is frequently exposed to a high noise level.
    • Must be able to routinely move throughout the shop and office area.
