Inventory Specialist

Our client, a global supplier of agricultural ingredients to the Food, Pet Food, Industrial and Pharmaceutical industry, is looking for an Inventory Specialist in their Skokie, Illinois office. The Inventory Specialist is responsible for managing inventory accuracy by reconciling batch numbers and SKUs across warehouses, addressing issues like damages, missing items, and repairs, and processing related claims. The role also involves conducting root cause analysis, providing inbound forecasts, auditing warehouse invoices, and collaborating with teams to prevent future issues and improve logistics operations.

This is a direct hire opportunity.

The salary range is $60,000 - $65,000 depending on experience.

The work schedule is Monday – Friday 8:30am to 5:00pm or 7:30am to 4:00pm. Once trained, this is a hybrid work model with three days “in office” and two days “remote”.

Inventory Specialist Duties:

• Communicate between traders, product managers, and logistics.
• Inventory reconciliation by batch number and sku.
• Work with warehouses on samples, damages, and repairs.
• Processing claims for damaged or missing items.
• Root cause analysis: resolve issues and take preventative actions.
• Warehouse visits.
• Audit and approval of warehouse invoices.
• Inbound forecasts.

Inventory Specialist Requirements:

• Previous warehouse/inventory experience; a plus if in food industry.
• Excellent time management and communication skills.
• Attention to detail.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and ERP systems.
• Bachelor's degree in Logistics or Supply chain Management preferred.
