JOB SUMMARY
Responsible for managing all inventory operations within a cannabis business, ensuring compliance, accuracy, and efficient stock management.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITES
- Develop and implement inventory management procedures specific to the cannabis industry, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.
- Manage inventory levels to meet production and sales demands, including tracking product expiry dates and ensuring proper storage conditions.
- Conduct regular inventory audits to maintain accuracy and identify discrepancies or areas for improvement.
- Collaborate with procurement and production teams to forecast inventory needs and optimize stock levels.
- Train and supervise inventory staff, providing guidance on best practices and ensuring adherence to company policies.
- Utilize inventory management software to track and analyze inventory data, generating reports and recommendations for decision-making.
- Monitor inventory movement, including incoming shipments, transfers between locations, and outgoing orders.
- Maintain a clean and organized inventory storage area, following safety guidelines and best practices for handling cannabis products.
- Coordinate with regulatory agencies and internal compliance teams to ensure inventory-related activities meet legal requirements.
- Stay updated on industry trends and regulatory changes related to cannabis inventory management.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain management, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- Experience working in inventory management, preferably within the cannabis industry or a highly regulated environment.
- Strong knowledge of inventory control principles, including FIFO, LIFO, and batch tracking.
- Familiarity with cannabis compliance regulations, such as seed-to-sale tracking systems and state-specific requirements.
- Proficiency in inventory management software and Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
- Leadership and team management abilities, including coaching and development of staff.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, for collaborating with internal teams and external partners.
- Detail-oriented mindset with a focus on accuracy and data integrity.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and work in a fast-paced, dynamic industry environment.
