The University of Virginia's Department of Student Health & Wellness (SHW) is seeking an energetic Inventory Specialist to join our dynamic team. This multi-faceted position reports to the Assistant Manager, Facilities, and collaborates with other team members in the accurate maintenance of our robust medical and general Supply Room which serves multiple sections under the SHW umbrella including Medical Services. The Inventory Specialist is responsible for maintaining detailed inventory records, ordering medical supplies, medications, and office supplies, and ensuring the smooth operation of the supply room within SHW. Additional areas of focus include work alongside the Assistant Manager on various projects including supply room operations, handling customer issues, maintaining compliance records, overseeing student workers, and supporting facility initiatives and events.
Job Description:
Work done independently:
* Maintain detailed inventory records and order medical supplies, medications, and office supplies.
* Use various software applications to track inventory data including Excel, Medicat, and Smartsheet.
* Deliver supplies throughout SHW with attention to detail.
* Work with the UVA Sterilization Processing Department to retrieve, deliver, and maintain records of compliance issues for sterile supplies.
* Maintain positive relationships between departments and with service providers, such as UVA Facilities Management employees and vendors.
* Assist with updating Student Health & Wellness phone message information/schedules.
* Perform job responsibilities and other duties as assigned.
* Maintain electronic documents in a systematic, organized manner for retention and retrieval, with appropriate confidentiality.

* Work closely with the Assistant Manager on supply room operations, including maintaining medical supply inventory and reporting any inventory issues.
* Handle customer issues and support facility initiatives to ensure customer satisfaction.
* Upholds policy and enforcement for SHW Facilities.
* Ensure daily readiness of staff and monitor compliance with safety procedures related to emergency preparedness.
* Assist with emergency response and support activities within SHW facilities.

Preferred Qualifications:
* Experience working with inventory management systems
* Bachelor's Degree preferred but not required.
* Supervisory experience
* Experience in a healthcare or similar setting.

About the Position:
This is a nonexempt level, benefited position and 40 hours per week. The anticipated hiring range for this overtime-eligible position is $22.00-$25.00 per hour commensurate with qualifications and experience. The successful candidate will pass both a background check and a drug and health screen. This is a nonexempt-level position with UVa benefits. Employees' benefits package highlights include:
