$32.84 - $52.54 Hourly$68,302 - $109,283 AnnuallyThis position is a Pay Band 80Posting DetailsThe New Mexico Medical Board (NMMB) is the state agency responsible for the regulation over 10,000 licensees including medical doctors (physicians), physician assistants, anesthesiologist assistants, genetic counselors, polysomnographic technologists, naturopaths and naprapaths.THIS POSTING WILL BE USED FOR ONGOING RECRUITMENT AND MAY CLOSE AT ANY TIME. Why does the job exist?This role demands comprehensive leadership and oversight of the Compliance and Investigations programs, ensuring strict adherence to statutes and regulatory requirements while promoting operational excellence. The incumbent will provide strategic direction and guidance to key departments and stakeholders, driving the achievement of the Board's objectives and maintaining the highest standards across all operational areas. As a supervisory position, it requires exemplary leadership skills, proactive and effective communication with internal and external stakeholders, and a strategic mindset to manage operations, allocate resources, and execute special projects aligned with the Board's compliance goals and organizational standards. How does it get done?This position provides strategic oversight of the Investigations and Compliance departments. Duties include* Ensuring alignment with statutes, regulations, and best practices while driving efficiency and accountability. * Leading departmental managers, facilitating Board meetings, legislative hearings, and public engagements, and serving as the primary liaison for Board Members, legislators, and constituents.* Collaborates with Human Resources, the CFO, and legal counsel to manage staffing, budgets, and compliance enforcement. * Oversees special projects, risk management initiatives, and the development of policies to adapt to evolving standards, fostering a culture of compliance and operational excellence across the organization. Ideal CandidateThe ideal candidate will have: - Proven ability to manage and oversee complex operations, ensuring alignment with regulatory standards and organizational goals- Experience leading and mentoring department managers to foster collaboration and drive success- Strong communication skills, with experience serving as a liaison to stakeholders such as Board Members, legislators, and constituents- In-depth understanding of statutes, regulatory requirements, and compliance standards- Experience organizing team-building initiatives to promote a collaborative culture- Strong ability to review investigative cases and provide disciplinary recommendations in line with legal and compliance standards- Proficient in coordinating special projects and managing subcommittees to achieve strategic objectives Minimum QualificationA Bachelor's Degree in any field of study from an accredited college or university and six (6) years of professional level experience with a tactical impact directly related to the purpose of the position defined by the agency at the time of recruitment. Working ConditionsWork is performed in an office setting with exposure to Visual/Video Display Terminal (VDT) and extensive personal computer and phone usage.
