The Investigative Support Specialist I is the primary lead for documentation preparation and general support of individual score review matters. Provides assistance to investigators and complete additional projects and tasks as assigned.

Salary: The finalist will be hired at the salary commensurate with their qualifications. We anticipate offering a market competitive salary at $18.00 per hour ACT manages salaries within the range based on relevant factors including skills, experience, and internal equity. The position is not incentive eligible.

Location: This position is on-site at ACT Headquarters, Iowa City, IA.

A Day in the Life:

  • Assist with maintaining individual score review case files at the various stages of the score review process, including preparing evidence for panel review and assisting in the retest process.
  • Assist with processing mail and correspondence and managing schedules for panel processing.
  • Communicate effectively, verbally and in writing, with ACT staff, examinees and others regarding the score review process and Test Security matters.
  • Exercise judgment within defined guidelines related to processing cases in the individual score review process.
  • Assist with Test Security individual score review investigations, including compiling and documenting evidence within defined guidelines.
  • Provide support to Test Security investigators and management as needed, within scheduled timelines.

About You:

  • A minimum of 2 years of related experience in data analysis, business processes or related administrative responsibilities
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment, including collaboratively managing and organizing work
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Computer usage and software skills including spreadsheets, word processing, and database familiarity
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
  • Acts decisively with sound judgement; uses data to analyze and options and form opinions
  • Ability to manage change and navigate positively in an environment experiencing change at a fast pace
  • Maintaining a high level of confidentiality regarding department and corporate information
  • Uses self-starter approach, ability to multi-task, proactively anticipates and acts on information
  • High school diploma required or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and abilities can be acquired

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Skills and knowledge required for success in this position attained through experience and education (Bachelors Degree in Business or related field of study), or a combination of both
