Job Description:

The Axel Group is seeking an Investment Analyst to join our client's team out of Middlesex County, New Jersey. This reputable real estate firm develops, constructs, and manages commercial and industrial facilities for a diverse range of clients across New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and beyond!

The Investment Analyst will support the Acquisition and Development Team in conducting market research, financial analysis, diligence support and property assessments.

The ideal candidate has an extreme proficiency in Excel and has worked in a similar capacity analyzing land deals. Entry level candidates with an interest in the real estate industry are encouraged to apply!

This individual must be local and commutable to the office in Middlesex County, NJ and must be able to work full time, upon completion of the interview process, come January/February of 2025.

  • Conduct thorough market research and data analysis to identify trends and opportunities in the real estate market
  • Create analyses and provide execution support throughout each phase of the investment process (underwriting, structuring, due diligence, financing, closing, asset management, sale)
  • Analyze property financial statements, budgets, and operational performance
  • Collaborate with the team to prepare presentations and reports for internal and external stakeholders
  • Review and incorporate due diligence materials in acquisition underwriting (review/request leases, taxes, insurance, surveys)
  • Maintain and update databases and spreadsheets with relevant market and property data
  • Update and maintain weekly deal pipeline system for the Acquisitions Team
  • Assist in monitoring market conditions, competitor activities, and regulatory changes
  • Support and collaborate as needed with other internal departments (Accounting, Property Management, etc.)
  • Interface with operating partners, real estate brokers, and others to evaluate potential pipeline opportunities

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Real Estate, Finance, Economics, or a related field
  • 0 - 2+ years of experience in practical commercial real estate analysis
  • Extreme proficiency in Excel and financial modeling
  • Thorough understanding of real estate principles and investment analysis
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Detail-oriented and organized
  • Familiarity with real estate software and databases (e.g., CoStar, Argus)
