Job Description:
ResponsibilitiesDIVISION DESCRIPTION: As part of the Conduit Origination team for private ABS transactions, the Associate will contribute to the origination, structuring and execution of asset-backed transactions with SG clients that are financed using the asset-backed commercial paper managed by SG. The mission of the securitization lending business is to be a strategic financing solution for SG clients which builds upon client relationships profitably and allows for the cross-sell of other SG products, primarily ABS underwriting roles and Interest Rate Derivatives. The team handles a broad spectrum of asset classes including: credit cards, consumer loans, solar loans, home improvement loans, C-PACE loans, insurance premium finance loans, equipment loans, among others. Working on diverse asset types with an experienced and successful team makes the position a great learning opportunity.
  • Preparing credit applications and other internal process documentation
  • Assist other team members in developing marketing materials
  • Performing quantitative/data and qualitative due diligence
  • Performing analysis and stress tests for transactions
  • Undertaking industry, client or asset specific research and assisting in special projects.
  • Complying with internal and regulatory processes (KYC, audits,...)
  • Regular monitoring of existing transactions
  • Initially, the candidate will focus on internal process work. As skills develop within the group, the candidate will be working on legal documentation and develop client contact and negotiation skills.
  • This role is for the private lending side of the ABS business, but the candidate will have exposure to the entire ABS chain.
Profile required
  • 2-3+ years' experience in a bank or a rating agency including in the securitization space
  • BA or BS degree required; concentration in Economics, Finance, Business, Math, or Computer Science is preferred but not required
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, with high technical proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Strong analytical skills with a high attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to collaborate with team members and work across the firm to ensure product is delivered to client
  • Capacity to understand complex financial structures and familiarity with credit and related legal documentation
  • Solid knowledge of financial markets, securitization and structured products would be helpful
