About the Job: Investment Funds - Associate Attorney This role in the prestigious AmLaw 50 international law firm located in New York, NY or Washington, D.C., is seeking a highly-qualified and motivated Associate Attorney to strengthen its Investment Funds practice group. As part of our team, you will have the opportunity to handle complex legal matters related to the Investment Company Act and Investment Advisers Act, contributing to the advisory for a range of closed-end and open-end funds, including ETFs. Compensation: $310,000.00 - $390,000.00 Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Advise clients rigorously on a variety of matters under the Investment Company Act and Investment Advisers Act.
- Draft and negotiate key legal documents for closed-end funds, including tender offer funds, interval funds, and business development companies.
- Support the structuring and distribution of open-end funds and exchange-traded funds (ETFs).
- Collaborate with team members to provide comprehensive legal solutions that align with client goals.
- Stay updated on regulatory changes affecting the funds sector and proactively advising the team and clients.
- Participate in discussions and negotiations with regulatory authorities.
- Mentor junior attorneys and support staff within the practice group. Minimum Position Qualifications:
- JD from a top-tier law school with a strong academic record.
- Admission to the Bar in either New York or Washington, D.C.
- A minimum of 4 years of substantive experience in the areas of the Investment Company Act and Investment Advisers Act.
- Proven expertise in supporting closed-end funds such as tender offer funds, interval funds, and business development companies.
- Strong legal writing, analytical, and interpersonal skills. Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in supporting open-end funds and/or ETFs.
- Proven track record of managing client relationships in a law firm setting.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
- Experience in regulatory compliance and risk management. Skills:
