Job Description Texas Children's Hospital has an opening for an Investment Manager position in Houston, TX.
Responsible for overseeing investment managers' performance, with limited oversight from senior team members. Identify, screen, and maintain active working relationships with high quality prospective investment managers. Carry out investment due diligence process with limited oversight. Direct ad hoc investment, administrative or research projects. Independently develop a strong working knowledge of at least one asset class. Develop and direct the implementation of quantitative risk management frameworks specifically customized for Texas Children's investment portfolios that optimize the risk & return characteristics of each marketable asset class within the portfolios, as well as for each portfolio as a whole. Collaborate with other senior members of the Investment Team in conducting market research to help identify investment areas of potential high interest. Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills and the ability to lead communication of organizational information with outside investment professionals and various internal departments. Represent the Investment Office externally by attending manager's meetings, conferences, and other industry events. Direct and coordinate the creation of board-level materials and participate in Foundation Board meetings. Participate in mentoring and developing analyst level investment professionals. Recruit new members of the Investment Office, as needed. Travel required nationally 10%. Requirements: Employer will accept a master's degree in finance, statistics, or mathematics and 24 months of experience as an Investment Analyst or related occupation. Experience should include the following experience: 24 months of experience in evaluating the performance of an institutional investment program, such as a foundation or endowment, long-term investment pool, and pension fund. 24 months of experience in reviewing and analyzing historical investment performance and performing attribution and factor analysis. 24 months of experience in designing quantitative models and mathematics for analyzing large and complex datasets, including linear and nonlinear regression and Monte Carlo Simulation as well as experience with statistical learning techniques such as KNN Classification and K means Clustering. 24 months experience with programming environments such as Excel VBA, R or Matlab, Python.
